The annual golf outing is always a fun and successful time. People usually participate in foursomes, there is a luncheon afterward, and there are refreshments available throughout the day.

Throughout the round, there are various challenges and raffles that are held. There are door prizes, challenges that involve getting closest to the pin, getting the longest drives, along with many different prizes. The winners are announced during the luncheon. With donations coming from those who participate, we are able to keep supporting our base, and activities that involve the base, particularly our scholarship fund.

The golf outing allows the Jersey Shore Base to fund the scholarships awarded to those selectees, chosen by committee, attending college. It is a great way to make the funds available to help support our younger generation in school so their education can enable them to make a prominent impact on our society.

Kap(SS) 4 Kid(SS)

"No one stands so tall as when they stoop to help a Child" - Abraham Lincoln

The Kap(SS) 4 Kid(SS) Program was started to bring comfort and joy to children with challenging medical conditions anywhere they are being treated. Many Sub Vets voluntarily take part by giving these children caring attention, Honorary Submariner caps, certificates, and submarine related items during visits. The K4K Program has been proven to provide a meaningful opportunity for Sub Vets to be involved in USSVI activities, for the rewards they receive from working together with other Sub Vets in providing joy to ailing children.
