About UsThe USSVI Jersey Shore Base is a unified group of U.S. Navy submarine veterans who have served the United States from WWII to present day. Having such a veteran organization allows the members to participate in numerous charitable events, allowing them to still serve our country in a new way. The Jersey Shore Base has an annual golf outing every June, which has donations and support from a large amount of local businesses, with proceeds going to the JSB Scholarship Fund. Getting in touch with other veterans, and having them join up only strengthens the bond between each member of the Jersey Shore Base, mirroring the same camaraderie developed in our country's military. Monthly meetings are held on the first Friday of every month where future events, and ideas are discussed by all attendees.
Strength and Silence
"I saw the submariners, the way they stood aloof and silent, watching their pigboat with loving eyes. They are alone in the Navy. I admired the PT boys. And I often wondered how the aviators had the courage to go out day after day and I forgave their boasting. But the submariners! In the entire fleet they stand apart!”
-James Michener Tales of The South Pacific
